EF Research Challenge - TBC'25

We’ve partnered with the Ethereum Foundation to bring the Research Challenge to the TUM Blockchain Conference. In this event, you will explore active research problems in the MEV space, then work in groups (max team size is 5) to develop solutions.

This event is exploratory in nature. If you are interested in the specific MEV problem, go for it! You can take some inspiration from the Flashbots research problem database. Before you start working, make sure to consult your idea with mentors to check the feasibility of your approach. We will also provide three potential problems to work on if you do not have one in mind.

The primary focus is on analysis and design rather than building a specific project. While you might use programming tools to analyze data, your code won’t be heavily examined unless it produces unexpected results.

Mentors will be available throughout the event to offer advice and feedback. The challenge concludes with each team submitting a report and presenting their findings in a concise presentation.

Prize (2500$ + 2500$): The best 3 teams will be awarded 🥇1st place: 1250$ 🥈2nd place: 750$ 🥉3rd place: 500$ The rest of the prize money (2500$) will be evenly distributed to all participants who presented a solution
